Author Events

Beaumaris Books' 2006 events schedule began with successful in-store and off site events.

*Our in-store event with children's author Jan Dallimore and illustrator Heath McKenzie on Saturday 18th Feb  was well attended and enjoyed by all. Jan and Heath's books, 'Granny survivor' and 'Granny Guru' are selling very well.

*We had a fabulous evening  with Tammie Matson, author of 'Dry Water-diving headfirst into Africa', on Monday, 27th Feb. Tammie's stories of Africa infected us all with 'Africa-itis' and we thoroughly enjoyed looking at her incredible photographs.

*Combined events with Bayside Library Services included Beaumaris Events with Peter Carey in April and David Malouf in October.

*We hosted our first event at Mentone Grammar's new Function Centre in September with the fabulous Tara Moss.

*We enjoyed another fabulous evening with William McInness in August at MALT. MALT cafe  also saw fabulous events with Margaret Whitlam and her biographer Susan Mitchell, and Catriona Rowntree.

Check our website for details of future events as they come to hand.

Two to keep in mind are:

*In store event, Saturday 25th November, Corinne Fenton, author of Children's picture book 'Queenie'

*In store event, Sat 16th December, Sue Stanford, poet, author of 'Opal'.
